Her 2015-2016 season included performances at the Metropolitan Opera as Maddalena in Rigoletto, Lola in Sir David McVicar’s Cavalleria Rusticana; and as a Serving Woman in Electra, led by Esa-Pekka Salonen.
Ms. Lahyani has also appeared at The Metropolitan Opera as Omar in The Death of Klinghoffer, Flora in La Traviata, Rosette in Manon, Kate Pinkerton in Anthony Minghella’s Madama Butterfly, Käthchen in Werther, Third Sprite in Rusalka, Altichiara in Francesca da Rimini, and Fiona in the Met premiere of Nico Muhly’s Two Boys. She is the first Israeli-born singer to appear at the Met.
Highlights of her recent seasons include her debut with the Canadian Opera Company
as the Page in Atom Egoyan’s production of Salome, Mère Marie in Dialogues des Car-
mélites, Countess Ceprano in Rigoletto with Gustavo Dudamel leading the Los Angeles
Philharmonic, and Dryad in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Seattle Opera. At Wolf Trap Opera, where she sang the title role of Carmen, Opera News praised her “attractive, sultry tone and deftly sculpted phrasing.”
