Education
Education has long been been the top priority in the Jewish community, so much so that Jewish tradition mandates a duty to educate oneself and one’s children in religious law, religious observances, ethical principles and theology. The Wood River Jewish Community prioritizes educational opportunities for the youth and teens of our congregation as well as for the adults.
Hebrew School and youth social events are held during the school year from September through May for five to eighteen year olds. Classes and activities are lead by our Rabbi Educator Dana Henry Bernston and often co-facilitated with Rabbi Sam Klein.
Adult education opportunities run throughout the year. Offerings include, but are not limited to on-going Torah study with Rabbi Sam Klein, beginning Hebrew lessons, book club, expert speakers in-person and on-line and more.
