Join us for a vital two-part safety and security training designed to give every member of the WRJC community—regardless of background or role—the knowledge and confidence to recognize threats and respond effectively in an emergency. Whether you’re a regular attendee, a parent, a volunteer greeter, or new to synagogue life, this training will help you play a critical role in keeping our community safe. Part 1: BeAware – Situational Awareness Learn how to spot suspicious behavior, recognize potential safety threats, and increase your vigilance in synagogue, school, or everyday settings. You’ll learn: How to enhance personal and communal situational awareness How to identify and report threats or suspicious activity Practical steps to remain alert and proactive Part 2: Countering Active Threat Training (CATT) A scenario-based, nationally recognized training designed specifically for faith-based institutions. This session focuses on the Run, Hide, Fight response model and teaches you how to stay safe and make quick decisions in an active threat situation. You’ll learn: What defines an active threat How and when to Run, Hide, or Fight What to do when law enforcement arrives How to take personal responsibility for preparedness This is an essential training for everyone who wants to help create a secure and resilient WRJC.
